The Barling Magna School Reunion 2002
A group
of former pupils (with spouses and friends etc) made the decision to
proceed with Reunion 2002 at a Gathering (at the Cherry Tree Public House,
Rochford) during January 2002. Subsequently, decisions on particular aspects of
the Reunion organisation were made at Gatherings held in March and May (at the
Red Lion and Rose Inn, Great Wakering, respectively). Therefore, it should be
borne in mind that a large number of people were involved in making decisions
about the running of the Reunion. However, the persons who had the main
responsibilities were Paul Abercrombie, Peter Griffiths, Dawn Mumford (with
husband David Bailey), and Val Mott (with husband Graham Ridley). During
Reunion 2002 the following gave invaluable assistance, Ray Mott (and wife June),
Doris Chapman (and husband David Bracci), Sheelagh Chapman (and husband Blaise
Aranha), Betty Mitchell, Les Gilkes and Richard (Vi Mitchell’s grandson).
A number of others also gave their time and effort in ensuring that the Reunion
was well publicised and would run smoothly, these included Janet Collicutt,
Olive Bradbury, Pearl Mumford, Betty Deadman, Vi Mitchell, Den Winch and Pam
Gregory. In addition, special thanks to Mrs Sue Taylor, the current Headteacher
of the new Barling School, for her advice and guidance.
There are many photos to be displayed, so these have been broken down to a number of sub pages to ease viewing. There is no specific Page related to any aspect, just as the photos were received.
