Heritage Site
A Memorial Service was held to commemorate the unveiling of a Memorial in memory of those who lost their lives and those who worked tirelessly thereafter following the floods of 31st January 1953. The service was held in Great Wakering Village Memorial Hall on Sunday 27th January at 2.30 p.m. and was very well attended. James Duddridge our local MP officially unveiled the memorial. Laurie Street organised the event and arranged the display boards showing some wonderful photographs of the disaster. | |
